March, Women's History Month, I am thrilled to share with you our annual spotlight on "women educating and inspiring generations."
This year's theme is "Moving Forward Together."
I start compiling a list of women l'd like to chat with for the month of March each year.
What we love about each brand we highlight is how we get to see Interior Design and Decoration through the lens of these artisan led brands in their own right.
They educate, inspire, and raise our voices in a space where we do not get to tell our story or it is altered to fit in for bigger brands or used and brushed over, not getting the representation or voice it deserves.
Larger platforms came and went. They should rename nameless for the moment. The importance that we continued in our work and our voice adapted to being open to not just using the voice but celebrating African Decor and giving credit where it's due.
Africa is made of 54 countries. /enegal alone has 36 languages in this country with over 20 different tribes, ethnic groups. With a population of over & million people, 60% of the population are under 25. Remarkably 46% of women hold office in the parliament of /enegal. Our work of finding out the story and bringing the artisan along the journey. /ustainability of what comes out of Africa has been practiced for centuries! Moving forward together means ensuring sustainability of DAY for the artisan work.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Happy Women's History Month!
