Tollo Basket
Two pieces. One collection. Tollo is the Wolof word for balance—the harmony between what a thing is and what it holds. The Tollo baskets are square, open baskets with handles, hand-coiled coil by coil from Ndiorokh grass. Its form is clean and unhurried. The geometry does not announce itself. It simply holds. Two colorways. White with sable brown sheepskin leather handles—considered and quiet. Black with black sheepskin leather handles—resolved, complete. Select at checkout.
The Busso basket, a companion square form, is available separately on its own page. All the pieces are hand-coiled by Wolof women in Senegal, coil by coil, from Vetiveria nigritana. The leather is sheepskin, finished at a women-operated open-air tannery in Senegal.
