The Tribe is one of the first baskets Tackussanu Senegal ever made. It remains in the permanent collection because nothing about it needed to change.

Hand-coiled coil by coil from Ndiorokh grass and white recycled plastic strips, the Tribe carries a large diamond motif worked directly into the body — black and brown plastic strips coiled into the structure of the basket itself, not printed, not applied after. The pattern is the coiling. It has always been there.

The basket closes with a peak lid, its knob finished with a braided tassel. Black sheepskin leather runs the rim and the handles — thick, considered, structural. The leather does not decorate the basket. It completes it.

Dimensions - As a hand-coiled object, each piece falls within a standard range. Dimensions are approximate and reflect the nature of the craft.

Production Lead Time - All pieces are made to order. Please allow a minimum of 45 days production time. This does not include shipping. A separate shipping invoice will be sent when your order is ready to leave Senegal.

Shipping - Shipping is invoiced separately. A shipping invoice will be sent when your order is ready to leave Senegal. For full shipping information, visit our FAQ page.

Care - Spot clean only. Using minimal water, gently dab with a damp cloth or paper towel and allow to dry completely before storing. Never immerse the basket in water. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as this may affect the natural materials over time.
