Winter Blues Collection
| Four pieces. One palette. The Winter Blues collection was built around what the materials already knew—Ndiorokh grass, recycled plastic strips, and organic sheepskin leather in deep indigo, chalk white, and dark blue. The colourway did not come from a mood board. It came from the coiling. Each piece in this collection is hand-coiled by Wolof women in Senegal, coil by coil, from Vetiveria nigritana — a grass native to West Africa. The leather is organic sheepskin, finished at a women-operated open-air tannery in Senegal. The collection includes the Teranga basket in two lid expressions, the Jummy, and the Coumba. These are not seasonal objects. They are permanent ones. |
